Color and Typography for Ulta Beauty
Image: Ulta

Ulta Beauty utilizes the design elements of color and typography to create effective promotional visuals. Color and typography wield power when it comes to design by attracting unique attention. These elements elevate the design by providing emphasis and impact to visuals. Ulta Beauty uses color to attract attention and curate a theme for the design. Orange and pink are warm colors that convey a happy message to viewers and promote excitement around beauty products. Ulta also uses a bolded and unique font to display its brand statement. In a smaller font in a different color, it lengthens the message. The viewer's eye will trail from the first part of the message to the second because of the good use of color and typography.

Symbolism and Minimalism with Chanel
Image: Chanel

Chanel takes minimalism to a heightened level by only using its brand logo in most of its promotional designs. A logo can be an imperative part of a design and brand image. The Chanel logo communicates with a viewer in a quick, yet dramatic way to promote a universally known design image. Chanel's minimal logo elevates the brand's exclusiveness- almost as if to imply everyone knows the brand just by their logo. Chanel uses minimalism effectively by having a widely-known image. The brand is able to have less design elements because the logo tells the viewer everything they need to know.
