When building a communication strategy, public relations practitioners must gather sufficient research to curate a successful plan. It is important to plan the individual aspects of how you plan to communicate to your target audience.

The Analysis-Synthesis Bridge Model offers guidelines for prototyping a communication strategy. PR practitioners must analyze the situation and decide the most effective way to communicate to target audiences. Through research, we gain a better understanding of our organization and find the communication methods that our audiences respond to. In the prototyping phase, we analyze what visual elements will communicate the message and what art forms should represent the organization.

I am tasked with creating a design system and communication plan to celebrate the Route 66 Centennial in Oklahoma. The design must be bold and colorful with recognizable iconography to promote the anniversary of the road.

I created a mood board on Pinterest to arrange my ideas and form a design plan. I plan to use colorful visuals that reflect the orange logo. The visuals will be image-driven with elements of road trips and vintage postcards to generate positive emotions. The imagery and type will blend to promote 100 years of Route 66 and how the road brings Oklahomans together. It will touch on community and family values.
